It's easy to feel uncomfortable or unsafe walking alone in the woods. You are more likely to be seen by someone if you are hiking with someone else. Even though it is not a good idea to hike alone there are times when you do it anyway.

For example, if you are hiking in a group you can take turns hiking different trails so that no one misses out on the fun. There are even organizations that will let you hike alone for a fee, but then they take care of you and ensure that you get home safely.
